required, Factory manufactured racing seats either Aluminum or Composite
required. Helmets and Racing suit required (1piece or two).
d. Must
consist of a configuration of front and rear hoops connected by side tubing or
hoops. The driver’s head must not
protrude beyond the cage with his helmet on while being strapped in the seat.
B-3 Weights
a. Must be
painted white and have car number on them. They must be securely fastened with
7/16 “ or larger bolts. No weights allowed in drivers compartment or on rear
bumper or attached to fuel cell brackets.
B-5 Tires
a. Hoosier Super Chain Link 26.5 or 27.5/ 8.0-15
SCL, G 60 Hoosier.
Mounted on a steel wheel with a maximum width of 8”. Bead locking devises
allowed on right rear only. Only foam wheel covers or bead lock / mud plug
combinations will be permitted. Grooving and siping allowed. No softening of
the tire allowed. “A40” Hardness required on all
B-6 Frames
a. May not be widened or narrowed and must be
able to support roll cage on both sides. Must be full and complete on both
sides. Cross members may be notched for radiator clearance only. Minimum frame
height and body height from ground is 4”. Front suspension must be replaceable
by stock part from same type suspension. Stock passenger car spindles only; NO
fabricated spindles. Bottom A-frame cannot be altered or moved. Tube type upper
“A” frames allowed and can be moved.

b. Coil over shocks allowed on
rear only. One shock per wheel.
No aluminum shocks. No Schrader valve shocks allowed. No remote canister
shocks. Zero valve shocks must be used as a slider with coil spring.
c. NO
Jeep, Bronco, ETC. or 4 wheel drive frames allowed. NO sports car frames
allowed.
d. Rear of frame may be
altered to accept leaf or coil springs; any coil springs must be at least 4 ½”
outside diameter. Fiberglass leaf springs allowed. NO torsion bars allowed in
rear. One shock per wheel only. Additional shocks in other locations
permissible. Minimum wheelbase, 108”, both sides- NO TOLERANCE. NO front clips
or tube type allowed. NO aluminum drive shafts.
B-7 Bodies
a.
Must use steel, fiberglass, or aluminum full size roof. Stock appearing
front windshield and rear window support unit (painted roll bars not acceptable
substitute.) Full firewall and floorboards are mandatory.
b.
No extended edges anywhere. All corners and edges must be clean.
Fiberglass or metal duplicates of body parts are permitted. Handmade body parts
may be constructed of steel, aluminum or fiberglass.
c.
All cars in competition must have a complete paint job. Unpainted
aluminum bodies are not acceptable. Must have a minimum 6” number on front of
car. All cars must be numbered with large legible numbers on both doors, on top
and rear panel. Letters on doors of car should be in contrasting color from
body, be at least 4” thick and at least 20” high. Top numbers should be at
least 4” thick and at least 30” high. Sponsors’ names must not interfere with
car numbers and must be neatly lettered. Original roofline of vehicle must be
maintained with a maximum of 1” drop rear to front. NO wings, spoilers or any
other ground effects are allowed anywhere outside or inside of car.
d.
A rear deck lid spoiler will be allowed maximum height of 5”. Minimum
width of 59” Maximum width 66”. Total height from ground to top of spoiler not
to exceed 38”. Engine compartment will remain open, NO side panels; hood sides
may have maximum 4” drop; bodies should extend no further forward than back of
block. Rear body panel to be a solid
panel at least 8” high and include car number. Driver and passenger door window
must have at least a 12” vertical opening. The rear roof posts must extend to
the quarter panels, left and right side. Left and right side rear roof panels
must be the same length and design. The roof panels will be a maximum height at
the rear not to exceed 3”. Rear spoiler braces must not exceed 5” in height. A
minimum distance of 59 inches and a maximum distance of 64 inches will be
permitted between the outer edges of the quarter panels measured at the rear
bumper height.
MIRRORS
NOT ALLOWED
b. Any intake is
allowed, with a maximum of 2 ” allowed between top of intake and bottom of
carb. All air cleaners are required to have a complete metal top and
bottom.
h. All
cars must have mufflers & turndowns. Must meet maximum noise level of 98
DPA at 100 feet.
B-10 Bumper
a. Bumpers must be used both front and rear.
Front bumpers must be frame end-to frame end with the bottom loop parallel to
the ground. Must be made of minimum 11/4” pipe and must be able to support car
if lifted by wrecker.
b. Rear bumpers, nerf bars and bodies must not
extend beyond width of rear tires. Rear bumpers may be constructed of pipe or
flat stock, but must not have any sharp edges and must protect fuel cell.
Center of bumper front or rear 18” from ground, + - 2”.

B-17 Claim Rule
a. Engine claim will be $1000.00 plus your
engine, with $50.00 going to the wrecker.
a.
The claimer must have
participated in at least 50% of the events at FRP (this does not include
special races).
b.
The top four finishers
in the feature are subject to a claim by finishers 5th on back
running on the lead lap. If more than
one driver wants to claim the same engine, the driver running more
competitively at the end of the race has the first option.
c.
Driver must have cash, and the claim must be made from the
car. When the track is clear there will be no more
claims.
d.
Engine must be removed
from the car at the track or some agreed upon location by the original owner
under the direction of a racing official.
Any sabotage to the claimed engine will result in the saboteur being
banned from further competition at the track for the remainder of the season.
e.
Only the basic engine
will be claimed. This does not include
the carburetor, distributor, plug wires fuel pump, water pump, all sending
units and pulleys, flywheel, bell housing, exhaust manifolds, and motor mounts.
f.
No driver may claim
more than once in a season.
g.
The first sell,
no-sell, or exchange is final and binding.
h.
If driver being
claimed wishes to exchange and the buyer refuses, the buyer will be considered
under the same rules as someone not accepting the claim.
i.
If someone refuses to
sell their engine, they forfeit all winnings and points for that night. Driver refusing to sell will be subject to a
$50 fine, and the driver will not be allowed to race the remainder of the
season until the fine is paid. Points
from that driver’s previous week of competition are also forfeited. No buying back of points or any adjustment at
a later time. Any driver refusing a
claim also forfeits his right to claim for the remainder of the year.
j.
Any driver using any
device which is intended to deceive other drivers, including but not limited
to, a device to squirt oil into or onto the engine to give an outward
impression of a “blown” engine will forfeit all winnings and points for that
night. Driver will be subject to a fine
equal to the amount of prize money forfeited.
The driver will not be allowed to race the remainder of the season until
fine is paid.
k.
Motor must be run the
next week.
The
pit steward and/ or other Officials in their discretion will rule upon items or
situations not covered by the rules of Freeport Raceway Park.
